About our cause
The Tom Henson Charity raises funds to help provide defibrillators for the community, making as many available for public access as possible, for use in an emergency.
These devices are key in helping save lives in the event of sudden cardiac arrest when time for urgent medical assistance is critical.
There are approximately 160 sudden cardiac arrest every day in the UK. Over 4 in 5 of these occur away from hospitals.
Ambulance response times are 8 minutes nationally and even longer for remote communities. If a sudden cardiac arrest occurs when the patient is not in hospital, every minute without advanced medical assistance reduces the patients chance of surviving by approximately 10%.
This is why we believe there should be as many defibrillators available to the public as possible.
We need your help so we can continue to increase the number of defibrillators that are out there for when these emergencies occur.
Thank you for your support and good luck!
Yours sincerely,
Nikki & Shaun O'Halloran
